I had a pretty good squat workout (read: brutal) yesterday and first off I want to share with you all ice baths. I know this is nothing new but it was my first time so maybe quite a few of you also have yet to try them.
After getting home from the gym I sat in my bathtub and turned on just cold water. It wasn't a "real" ice bath but it was fucking cold, measured at 40 degrees. After filling it around me (the shock seemed easier that way) I soaked for about 15 minutes, drained and took a medium warm shower.
I have to say I am impressed - I literally expected to be crippled today but I have almost no muscle soreness at all. Next time you all have a brutal workout, consider doing an ice bath. It really helped.
That said - my joints today ache like fuck. Knees and hips have this dull ache that just makes me want to go back to bed. Anything you guys normally do for join pain that really seems to help?
